Louisville native Julie Kaelin has been practicing law in Kentucky state and federal courts for thirteen years. She has handled everything from traffic citations to capital murder cases. She also has been actively involved in handling expungements pro bono, in working with the Legal Aid Society to provide legal services to those in need, and in restoring voting rights to former felons. She has been endorsed by Citizens for Better Judges, the Metropolitan Louisville Women’s Political Caucus, FOP Lodges 77 and 32, and IBEW Local 369. Julie has extensive courtroom experience and has served as an adjunct professor of Trial Practice at the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. This summer she will join the faculty of the prestigious National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia. Julie views the practice of law as an evolving, living profession that directly contributes to society, and encourages civility and creative debate among her colleagues and peers to improve the profession as a whole. She is honored to be running for Judge in her hometown, and looks forward to meeting voters this election season!
