Hon. Gina Kay Calvert

Judge Gina Kay Calvert was elected to the Jefferson District Court Bench in 2010 and has presided over both civil and criminal dockets. She graduated from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 1990. Her prior legal experience includes prosecution of violent felonies as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney and representation of both criminal defendants and civil litigants in district and circuit court. In her private practice, Judge Calvert became an accomplished family law practitioner and respected guardian ad litem in the Jefferson Family Courts, representing abused and neglected children. She is an AOC certified mediator and court approved parenting coordinator. Judge Calvert has a unique perspective on the court system as a result of also being a violent crime victim.

Judge Calvert is a member of the Kosair Charities Advisory Council, Face It® movement to end child abuse and Sullivan University Paralegal Studies Board.

Judge Calvert is married to attorney I. Joel Frockt. Her blended family includes two children, two grandchildren and an adopted shelter dog.
