Dennis Burke is a Louisville native and graduate of St. Xavier High School, the University of Louisville, and the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. Mr. Burke began his career as a trial court prosecutor with the Jefferson County Attorney's Office and also served a four year stint with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy for the 53rd Judicial Circuit of Oldham, Henry, Trimble and Shelby Counties where he represented indigent juvenile and adult defendants.
Mr. Burke has maintained a private practice throughout most of his legal career and served as General Counsel to IUE Local 761/GE in Louisville, Ky for many of those years. He currently concentrates in the areas of family law, criminal defense, and general civil litigation. As a court appointed advocate for parents in the Dependency, Neglect and Abuse Docket in Family Court Division Seven, Mr. Burke has a significant understanding and respect for the role that he seeks to fill and in the particular division for which he is running. Mr. Burke has received the endorsements of Better Schools Kentucky (JCTA), the United Auto Workers, Teamsters Locals #89 and #783, UFCW Local 227, IBEW Local 369, the Metro Louisville Women's Political Caucus, the Greater Louisville Central Labor Council, and the Greater Louisville Building & Construction Trades Council.
Mr. Burke is married to Jefferson District Court Judge Stephanie Pearce Burke and they have three children, Maria, Aiden and Carey.
